The 2021 preliminary assessment describes the information available to the UAP Task Force and the difficulties of drawing conclusions from inconsistent or incomplete reporting.

A preliminary assessment is not a final explanation

Its report categories and recommendations should be read in their historical context. An unresolved report does not by itself establish extraordinary performance or extraterrestrial origin. Later evidence can change a case assessment without altering the original document.
